Dear Business Buddy,
Here is your friendly reminder to complete your SOFTWARE AUDIT!
It’s so easy to be going through day to day, and start an autopay on a software or feature that we see as useful; I did it recently too. I started paying for a zoom subscription so my client wouldn’t have to change their habits in meeting to accommodate a shorter time frame or different video meet app.
BUT- here’s the tricky part- remembering to revisit old subscriptions, then downgrading/unsubscribing when applicable.
So business buddy, here is your checklist:
Get a list of all the softwares and subscriptions you are paying for. (Look at bank statements, Card transactions, email confirmations, etc)
Log into those accounts, and confirm what their use to you is. Note this on your list.
Check the billing; note on your list the frequency and amount.
Verify the price tier vs. what you are paying. Is there something like number of seats that you need to reduce? Note this on your list.
PURGE - unsubscribe to the softwares that you have confirmed you do not need. Downgrade/reduce tiers/cancel- revise this on your list.
Planning - Add reviewing this to your Annual/Quarterly/Monthly task list. Schedule a reminder if something needs to be purged at a different time, and make sure it notifies you.
What’s the best part of having this documented? You’ve done the biggest lift step to delegating this task to another person if needed, great job setting yourself up for success!
PS. Because I’m rooting for you, I made a printable PDF of this item for you to use!
